Neil van Niekerk and Planetneil.com are pleased to announce a series of lighting workshops for 2008, to

be held in cities across the United States.

These one-day workshops focus on practical how-to advice in achieving the best results when using on-

camera flash in a variety of lighting situations, both indoors and out. Using a combination of lecture,

demonstration, and hands-on practice for the attendees, this workshop will help photographers refine

their flash technique so that they achieve more consistent and predictable results.

The Planetneil.com website has received much praise as an educational resource for photographers and

digital imaging.” These articles about lighting, exposure techniques, digital workflow, and other

aspects of digital photography and capture have been featured in Rangefinder Magazine, on the Digital

Wedding Forum, and in Amherst Media’s Wedding Photography Handbook, among other resources.

Neil van Niekerk was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2000, he and his family

emigrated to the United States, settling in New Jersey, where he now works as a full time professional

wedding photographer. He has photographed weddings and portraits across the United States and

internationally. His wedding and portrait work can be seen on his website at

In 2007 Neil presented shorter versions of the Planetneil Workshop for various PPA organizations; in

Mystic, CT; and in small independent seminars across the United States. He presented two full-scale

workshops that sold out in Atlanta, GA, and Manassas, VA. He has been an invited speaker at the DWF

Conventions in 2006, 2007, and will be a mentor at the 2008 Convention in Tampa, FL.
